Last night was great fun, the Big Head Todd show was a big success. We got a great guitar autographed and ready to auction, and Graeme got to meet one of his guitar heroes in person. It very gratifying to see part of the PLAN in action. I’ve been making some headway in preparing an Instrument Drive, should be ready to launch for December 1st. Last night we had our official debut party at Bailey’s in Chapel Hill. We had a great turn out, made some new friends and put faces to people I’d only spoken to on the phone before. It was very uplifting to have so many people take the time to come listen to my ideas and contribute their own. We have the beginnings of a great organization here, a mixed bag of complementary personalities and skill sets all united to a single purpose – a powerful thing! Last week I took my son and his girlfriend to Charlotte for a show. It was supposed to be Reel Big Fish, but the singer was ill, so one of the opening bands, Streetlight Manifesto, stepped up into the headliner spot. For those unfamiliar, Streetlight is a Ska band (apologies if I haven’t gotten the category exactly right). Basically a punk band with a horn section. July has been a crazy month. There has been a lot of running around, making new friends, planting the seeds of what I’m trying to do. It is gratifying to see how open people have been to my ideas. The Launch Party is Monday, and once I get past that, I will really feel like I’m on my way. If you are reading this, and there is something in your head that you want to do, but you’re not sure -DO IT!
